Workshop Against Procrastination: About Workshop Against Procrastination

About the University of Iceland Workshop

Workshop Against Procrastination

During the University of Iceland Workshop against Procrastination students at UI can join their peers in a supportive atmosphere instead of working alone. The event offers all students at the University of Iceland assistance and information about completing their assignments and theses, no matter how large or small.

The purpose of the Workshop is to:

  • give students the opportunity to work on their assignments outside of normal school hours in a supportive environment,
  • draw attention to the anxiety that students around the world feel about academic writing that leads many to drop out,
  • highlight the assistance students can receive at every step of the writing process and support those who postponed starting their writing assignments.

The Workshop, was titled Long Night against Procrastination when it was first held in 2013. It has since been a yearly event during the spring semester. In 2020 and 2021 it was cancelled due to Covid-19.

The title was changed in the Spring semester 2024, from Long Night against Procrastination to Workshop Against Procrastination

The Workshop Against Procrastination is organized by the University of Iceland Center for Writing, the Student Counselling Centre, The School of Education library, the National and University Library and the Health Sciences library.
