Interlibrary loans: Making a request from an Icelandic library

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service whereby a user from one library can borrow books or receive photocopies from another library

Step 1

We recommend choosing English as a default interface language If you haven't already. First we sign in then we click the magnifying glass.

Step 2

We select All material.

Step 3

We are going to order the book The constitutional and legal rights of women via interlibrary loan. We type the title in to the search bar and select the magnifying glass.

Step 4

The book is number 1 in the the results. We select the book to send in a request.

Step 5

Next we select Resource sharing.

Step 6

We fill out the form and select Send request.

Step 7

If everything goes well you should see the message "Your request was successfully placed" appear.

Step 8

If we want to see the request we select our name in the top right corner and select My requests.

Step 9

We select Landsbókasafn Íslands – Háskólabókasafn to see the request.

Step 10

There we see that the request has the status ILL. Created borrowing request The patron will then receive a notification via email when the book is available for loan.
