It is not necessary to sign in to search on lbs.leitir.is.
It is necessary to sign in to view loans, renew loans and make requests.
Here you will find instructions on how to sign in with digital certificates (Island.is authentication).
First we click Sign in on the frontpage.
Then we select Island.is.
Then we scroll to the bottom of the page and select English.
Next you sign in with digital certificates by either entering your phone number and clicking login or by clicking login below certificate on card.
When the sign in is finished your name will appear in the upper right corner.
